What do I need for a website?
You must first register your domain name. That is the name that appears in your browser window. Mine is kingsleynet.com.
Once your domain is registered is need to be hosted. That is the place where all your files are stored. This is usually on an annual basis because once it’s set up most people don’t like to move it around.
I find the entire process rather confusing, can you help me?
Yes. It can be very overwhelming and we want to simplify the process for you. We’ll take care of everything and keep you posted on the progress through the process. We won’t do things without your approval but you won’t have to be caught up in all the details either.
I have an existing site, can you make it a painless process?
Yes. We’re a perfect match if you have all your content up and are looking to get a more professional site. We can transfer your existing content to your new site and go through it to make your site even better. “Genius is in the details” and that is where we do our best. I have my site hosted with another comany, can you work with that?
Yes. We can upload your site to your existing hosting company via access to your ftp server.
Can you register domain name and set up my hosting?
Yes. We can provide you with a package that includes the registration of your domain name and set up the hosting account for your site. Our hosting is billed on an annual basis.
Can I do all this myself for less money?
Yes. You’ve seen the GoDaddy ads where you can register your domain for $1.99. (I personally find GoDaddy confusing for most people and don’t care for their TV ads.) You can also find pretty inexpensive hosting. The trick is you have to figure everything out on your own which can take some time.
